Life’s a Beach

I can hardly wait—my family and I are gearing up for our annual summer trip to the beach. My favorite getaway is to the beach—it just seems that everything is better near the ocean. My favorite part of the beach is that we park the car for the whole week and take bikes everywhere! We have our usual bike rides in the morning and then play games on the beach in the afternoon. We have a multitude of different balls, Frisbees and lots of sand castle building tools.  Continue reading…

Yes, it’s Hot, but Get Your Kids Moving!

I don’t have to remind you that Atlanta recorded triple-digit record-breaking temperatures this month…I guess in the summer we really can call our city “Hotlanta.”

To beat the heat, I like to take my kids to the pool—mostly on the weekends when I’m home from work—so they can play with their friends and splash me with their “cannonballs” and show off their “new moves” off the diving board.  I grew up going to the pool everyday so it is very important to me that my kids learned to swim. Five Ways to Combat Summer Boredom Snack Attacks

I don’t know about you, but summer is flying by! It’s always a challenge to keep three boys busy all summer while my husband and I are at work.

This year, my kids are attending several day camps. One week is soccer camp, another is basketball camp and the last one is a camp just for boys where they do all kinds of silly things like water balloon fights. I love this camp because it has all those fun games that kids love – marco polo, ultimate Frisbee, kick ball and whiffle ball to name a few! Continue reading…
